Biography
Victor Aquino, M.D., is a hematologist and oncologist at Children’s Health℠ who specializes in pediatric bone marrow transplantation for children with cancer and blood disorders. He is also a professor of pediatrics at UT Southwestern Medical Center.
After receiving his medical degree and completing a pediatric residency at State University of New York, Dr. Aquino performed his pediatric hematology and oncology fellowship training at UT Southwestern and Children’s Medical Center.
Dr. Aquino is an active investigator in the Children’s Oncology Group, an international research organization supported by the National Cancer Institute. Through his research, Dr. Aquino seeks to improve supportive care of children undergoing hematopoietic stem cell transplantation.
Additionally, Dr. Aquino’s research interests include transplant for children with immunodeficiency syndromes as well as prevention and treatment of infections in pediatric patients going through hematopoietic stem cell transplantation.
In his free time, Dr. Aquino enjoys running and spending time with his family.
